Outbound B2B lead generation - when it pays off and when it is a waste of budget

Outbound, also called sales prospecting, is proactive sales work. Its goal is a first conversation with decision-makers at companies that could become your customers. We reach decision-makers on three channels - email, phone and LinkedIn - and keep following up until they show interest. We do not run other marketing activities such as ads, forms, Google Ads, SEO or websites.

Outbound lead generation does not fit every company. Because our billing is tied to leads, on the first call we tell you upfront whether outbound can deliver a return for your company. It depends on four things.

It pays off when
  • you have a proven offer with demand in the market and want to add a sales channel and scale up
  • a customer is worth a lot over time (high LTV)
  • you have a sales process and people who will take over the conversations with leads
  • your market has at least 5,000 companies that can buy your product or service
It is a waste of budget when
  • you are a micro business or a startup still testing whether the market wants your product (no product-market fit)
  • a customer's orders are worth less than €2,000 a year
  • you have no sales process and no one to handle the leads
  • your market has fewer than 5,000 companies

How we handle your email

What you get

B2B lead generation agency - what we do for you

We run the campaign from the company list and the sending infrastructure to the conversation with decision-makers. You receive leads your team can work on.

  • Sending infrastructure

We buy separate domains and mailboxes for the campaign. This keeps deliverability high, protects your main domain and lets us work at scale.

  • A list of every company that can buy from you

We collect data on headcount, revenue, markets, products, services and offices. Then the decision-makers and their contact details - name, LinkedIn profile, email and mobile number. Every address is verified before sending. The list is built for each campaign and never reused between clients.

  • The whole campaign design

We design the sequence - when outreach starts by email, when we message on LinkedIn from the profiles of people at your company and when we call. Email is the main channel, LinkedIn and phone are added for priority contacts.

  • Copy and A/B tests you approve

At launch we run at least five copy tests per segment and scale the best performers. Every email in the sequence has at least four variants and a full signature.

  • Market signals

We track signals such as new offices, new products, changes in decision-making roles, open job ads, LinkedIn activity, Google News and more. That way we reach companies that show a need for change.

  • Copy in local languages

We write natively in the language of each market. If you have local reps there, a message in the recipient's language gets more replies in our campaigns than one in English. In selected countries local partners also call in the local language.

  • Sales-ready leads for your team

A decision-maker who replied and wants to talk, with context - who they are, what they wrote and what they responded to. Your sales team takes over the conversation.

  • Weekly report

Messages sent, replies and leads from each channel, plus what your prospects write back. Once a week we go through the results with you.

Lead definition

B2B sales leads - what we count as a lead

A qualified lead is a decision-maker from a company that matches your customer profile, who showed interest in your offer and was confirmed by your sales team (company fit, decision-making role, interest and responsiveness). We write this definition into the contract and count every lead against it.

  • A decision-maker

Makes the buying decision at a company that matches the profile we agree on at the start.

  • Wants to talk

A reply like "please send more information" with no further conversation is not a lead and does not count toward billing.

  • Confirmed by your team

Your sales team decides whether a lead counts.

  • Leads with context

Every lead comes with a note - who the person is, what they replied and what they are looking for. It goes to your CRM or a spreadsheet.

Data

A B2B company and decision-maker list built for your offer

We build the list for each campaign and never recycle lists between clients. We combine many sources - company registers and industry directories, advanced scraping of websites and Google Maps, and continuously updated data providers. Every address is verified before sending.

  • Company

Segment, size, location, markets, products and services.

  • Decision-maker

Name, role, LinkedIn profile, verified email address and phone.

  • Signal

For example a job ad, a change of role or a new office.

  • Exclusions

Your current customers, who we do not contact, and people who declined contact and are on our exclusion list.

Ready-made B2B databases show only part of the market. In traditional industries such as manufacturing, many companies are barely visible online, so we use tools that also reach companies that work mostly offline.

Infrastructure

Our own infrastructure and deliverability control

We send from separate domains and mailboxes set up for the campaign. Your main domain is never used for sending, and our software monitors the deliverability of every mailbox and domain.

  • Up to 3 mailboxes per domain

One domain holds at most 3 cold email mailboxes, and every domain has correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.

  • Up to 30 messages a day

That is the daily cap for a single mailbox.

  • Warm-up

A new domain goes through 2-3 weeks of warm-up before it sends its first campaign. Volume grows step by step.

  • Monitoring of every mailbox

Our software tracks bounces and replies for each mailbox and replaces the ones that stop performing.

How we manage mailboxes at scale
Channels

B2B lead generation on three channels

Email is the main channel. We use LinkedIn and phone for companies that matter most to you or where email is hard to get through. Channels are matched to your needs and your market.

  • Email

Personalized messages matched to the segment, industry, company size and the decision-maker's role.

  • LinkedIn

We use the profiles of people from your company, so the conversation starts between people from the same industry.

  • Phone

We call decision-makers' mobile numbers directly, which gets past switchboards and catches people who missed the email.

How we work

How a lead generation campaign runs. First messages after 2-3 weeks.

We start with 2-3 weeks of preparation on our side. From you we need one call, materials about your offer and a list of companies to exclude.

01 - StartDays 1-3

We map the market and study your offer.

  • Customer profile - we agree on your ideal customer profile (ICP) and what counts as a lead.
  • Market - we count the companies and decision-makers that match the profile. If the market is too small for a campaign, we say so right away.
  • Infrastructure - separate domains and mailboxes, bought and set up on our side.
  • From you - a kick-off call, materials about your offer and a list of companies to exclude.
02 - PreparationWeeks 1-2

We build the list, warm up the mailboxes and write the copy.

  • List - companies and decision-makers for your offer, every address verified before sending.
  • Warm-up - new mailboxes are warmed up before they send the first campaign.
  • Copy - messages for each segment and role, each in several variants.
  • From you - approval of the company list and the copy.
03 - First contactsFrom week 2-3

We start outreach and test.

  • Tests - several copy versions and audience groups at once.
  • Leads in your CRM - with a note on who the person is and what they are looking for.
  • Weekly report - who we write to, who replied, what is in progress.
04 - ScalingMonths 2-3

More of what wins.

  • Winning tests - get more volume, weaker ones are switched off.
  • Next segments - what works moves on to further industries, roles and markets.
  • From you - you confirm leads and run the conversations.

Pricing

How much does B2B lead generation cost?

Price depends on the selected channels and the number of companies we reach. On a retainer, the number of leads goes into the contract.

Pay-per-lead

No monthly retainer. You pay only for the leads you confirm, or for meetings that land in your calendar.

  • Every lead is confirmed by your sales team
  • Or pay-per-meeting, for booked meetings only
Retainer with leads in the contract

A fixed monthly fee with the number of leads written into the contract. If we fall short, we keep working until we deliver it, at no extra cost.

  • Number of leads written into the contract
  • We work until it is delivered
